Hou

호 / ホー

Hou is a Regular in the Tower of God series. He is friends with his teammate Serena Linnen.
After passing a few tests on the Second Floor, Hou is assigned the Wave Controller position. He subsequently begins to struggle with it and grows jealous of Bam, as high-level wave controlling comes naturally to him. Despite this, Hou keeps up a facade of incredible kindness, even to Bam. It is revealed that his jealousy stems from his past: his entire village was slaughtered by a Ranker, and Hou could not save them. He grows progressively more angry at Bam to do this, asking himself why others must be so powerful and yet he is too weak to even save those he loves. As he grows progressively more jealous, he receives a fake note, placed by Hwaryun, encouraging him to make an attempt at Rachel's life to demotivate Bam. He attempts, managing to stab Rachel but otherwise failing. Feeling so demotivated from this, he commits suicide.
