Yui Ootsuka

大塚 結依

Birthday: October 17 Yui is a girl with a blonde medium bob cut, and the main protagonist of Shishunki Bitter Change. After an accident in fourth grade, she switched bodies with a boy named Yuuta. Now, Yuuta has become "Yui". "Yui"/Yuuta is lively, cheerful, and makes friends easily. Yuuta was the eldest son in his original family who took good care of his younger brother, and he/she quickly reconnects and becomes as "Yui-nee-chan" his unofficial big sister. She adapts much more readily to the change and eventually develops doubts if she still wants to return to her old body.
In their last year of high school, she confesses to "Yuuta"/Yui her feelings for her (or "him") and that she wants to accept herself as she is now. She proposes for them to give up looking for a way to revert the swap, and to be together forever.
Note: post-swap Yuuta (now in the appearance of Yui) is written in katakana as "ユウタ" to differentiate from pre-swap Yuuta (now with the mind of Yui), which is written in kanji as "佑太".
